“Images for each section were merged in Adobe Photoshop …, the lesion area and total spinal cord area were manually segmented in the digital images using Analyze software (V10.0, Analyze Direct, Overland Park, KS, USA), and the percent ‘spared’ tissue calculated for each section.”
