“The images were transferred to a processing software (ANALYZE …), in which the delay between elevation in [Ca2+]i (>10 gray level increase in pixel intensity from baseline) and the initiation of contraction was measured by detecting the edges of a myocyte and automatically tracking for movement of the edge.”
