How Analyze was Used
“Structural MRI data acquired from 47 sub-acute stroke patients used for the DFSs analyses were used to measure each lesion’s anatomical impact at the voxel level. Lesions were manually segmented on each patient’s structural MRI scans using the Analyze software package. The T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and T2-FLAIR scans were used in conjunction to ensure complete lesion delineation. If present, surrounding vasogenic edema was included in the lesion definition for all patients. All segmentations were reviewed by two board-certified neurologists and were reviewed a second time. The final segmentations were used as binary lesion masks for subsequent processing and analysis steps. Lesion masks were transformed into MNI atlas space using a combination of linear transformations and non-linear warps and were resampled to have isotropic voxel resolution.”
