How Analyze was Used
“Reviewing the images revealed dramatic change in the subchondral bone in osteoarthritic knees. To understand this in more detail, the femoral and tibial epiphyses were segmented using a user-guided fully 3D semi-automatic approach in using Analyze (AnalyzeDirect, Inc., Overland Park, KS). The segmentation results were visualized on central knee joint slice images…as well as in 3D renderings…. The images show obvious damage to both epiphyses in the osteoarthritis as compared to the normal architecture of control knees”
