“The heart was extracted and scanned with a regular CT scanner at a resolution of 0.6 mm resulting in a three dimensional volume. Using the commercial software tool Analyze [https://analyzedirect.com/Analyze4.0/], the geometry of the specimen was extracted based on a topology preserving erosion process [Lobregt et al. 1980].”
