“Given the potential pitfalls associated with intubated methods, noninvasive methods have been developed to measure capacity in response to physiological distension with a meal. Kuiken et al. [1999] developed an approach using 99mTc-pertechnetate with SPECT imaging of the gastric mucosa followed by image processing and analysis using AnalyzeAVW software.”
