“Basal ganglia volumes were previously determind by investigators blinded to subject characteristics and hemisphere on UNIX workstations using ANALYZE 7.5 software. Hand tracing was used to define the basal ganglia ater the images were enlarged eightfold to minimize mechanical tracing error (Peterson, Thomas et al., 2003).”
